Fifth Sunday Giving - Caring Solutions
For the fifth Sunday in March, New City Church at the Mill is raising money for Caring Solutions - a pregnancy center ministry that delivers compassionate services to women and their partners facing unplanned pregnancies. The ministry provides assistance and evidence-based resources through medical, emotional, and spiritual support. There are three locations: Macon, Warner Robins, and Milledgeville. Christina Middleton has been the Executive Coordinator of Caring Solutions for over 12 years now. The Milledgeville location is operated by Elaine Kirkland.
Caring Solutions expanded to their Millegeville location in 2020, amid the Covid-19 pandemic. Although the pandemic would be an obstacle at Caring Solutions, staff made a way to provide care for pregnant women by offering hope and peace during that time. To this day, Caring Solutions aims to give compassion, love, and grace to anyone who enters their building while also providing a safe refuge for women and their partners going through an uncertain pregnancy.
There is a lot of uncertainty and confusion surrounding pregnancies for first time mothers, especially when that first time mother is a teenager. Caring Solutions provides anything an expectant mother may need. Medical services include pregnancy testing and limited ultrasound, STI testing & treatment, and nurse consultation. Additionally, Caring Solutions offers relational, environmental, and social support. The GPS program helps clients navigate their specific situation through guidance, preparation, and support from clinicians. Oftentimes, young women who are uneducated, unemployed, and single come into the clinic seeking help in many areas of their lives and Caring Solutions is able to provide that help for them. Clients are able to experience mock interviews and get assistance in writing and updating their resume. The clinicians at Caring Solutions also encourage their clients to attend social gatherings with other clients in order to develop a like-minded support group.
Ultimately, the goal of Caring Solutions is to insert Jesus into the lives of these women in any way they can. Jesus is the One who makes the difference in the services offered at Caring Solutions and in the lives of these women and their families. Leaning on the guidance of the Lord and continuing to practice biblically-based pregnancy care for their clients is what has allowed the clinic to advance to where they are now.
With the help of donations from the community, Caring Solutions hopes to expand their online bandwidth so that the clinic is not blocked and censored by search engines such as Google, Yahoo!, Bing, etc. They would also like to be able to expand their marketing and broaden their reach to the college campuses in Milledgeville.
